My name is Joe Darwin and I am the Director of Technical Marketing here at EVGA. I would like to make it clear that the AUSWAK account is an EVGA sales employee who created the account before he was an employee of EVGA and continued to use that account after his employment without making it clear to the [H]ard|Forum Members. I can assure you that in no way was he trying to do marketing for EVGA, only to help answer questions with regards to the EVGA products. I have addressed this issue with AUSWAK and made it clear that if posts are going to be made to the forum, then moderators and members need to know that he does in fact represent EVGA.

I have talked with Kyle this morning and asked if I can have an account on the forums to represent EVGA in order to post this and other information related to EVGA and he has agreed. In the future comments from EVGA will be posted from this account.

This is in relation to this earlier thread from today.

We are glad to see all of this get righted very quickly. We would much rather have a solid working relationship with eVGA on this forum, rather than one that makes you question issues of trust. Kudos to eVGA for making things right. We hope this marks a new era of open communication between eVGA and HardOCP.
 
It would be nice if eVGA actually shows up here more often than to just put out fires.

Whats nice is thatmore andmorecompanies are beginning to use community forums such as this one to help out people. For some its much easier this way than a telephone or bunch of emails and gets the companys name out there.
 
Welcome to eVGA, unfortunately it had to come with a slight misunderstanding that you "officially" joined our forum here. Hopefully companies will realize that investing a little effort into showing a presense and being overall helpful in places like this that it does get through to the consumers.

Please get your people to release a new 7800 BIOS for those of us that spent $599 launch day and got a 450/1200 card. Then 3 weeks later at the same price you release a KO edition and leave the loyal buyers who bought it as soon as they could with the lowest clock speeds of any Tier 1 manufacturer (not including extreme editions). Leadtek has 450/1250, XFX has 450/1250, Gigabyte has 480/1250 (they release 2 new BIOS), Gainward does 470/1300, and BFG does 460/1300 (ALL USING STOCK COOLING). A new BIOS would be greatly appreciated and keep the enthusiasts who are most likely going to buy future Nvidia cards on the eVGA side after spending so much money.

Not all cards will do those speeds. Mine won't on stock cooling. The KO edition is speed binned. It would be stupid to release a BIOS that could potentially break peoples' cards. In any case, I didn't think this was a thread to ask EVGA to revise their product line.

Your eVGA card can't hit 1250 memory or 460 core? Wow, you're the first person I've ever seen with such a deprived card. Then why did Gigabyte release 2 different BIOS already for higher clock speeds? And why can every other company have memory past 1200mhz. Is eVGA buying the dud cores and memory? That's what you're implying with your statement. Also, asking for an increase in speed for a standard 7800 GTX doesn't modify their current product line.

EDIT: This isn't targeted at XFX, it's at eVGA, also 475/1350 is GREATER than 450/1200, duh.
 
I don't really see anything horribly wrong with what Auswak did. We all do stupid things and what he did is easily forgivable. This episode should in no way affect your view of EVGA or it's products.
 
welcome, all we need is a bfg rep., then an amd and intel reps, then this forum would really kick some ass as the ?'s would be professionally answered.

Greetings Joe,

I'd like to say I've had a single telephone conversation with Joe prior to todays earlier confusion. In my case he made every effort to to listen to my concerns, explain the source of the confusion and deal with them in what I felt was a fair and balanced manner.

As a occasional [H} poster and eVga owner I'm pleased that eVGA and the management of [H] have come to an understanding and hope to see input on eVGA products from them here in the future

Auswak has represented eVGA very well. He has helped resolve more than a few eVGA based issues. From what I understand, he was previously volunteering as a forum admin at eVGA and did a such a great job for eVGA, they decided to make him an employee. No cloak and dagger here.

Joe Darwin, from experience, has gone to bat, working with Auswak, to help rectify some escalated issues that have proven eVGA to be a stand up company. Joe's efforts will now be more personal.

Hope he doesn't get too much SPAM ;)

As an ardent supporter of eVGA here and on other boards this makes me happy. I was annoyed with the whole AUSWAK thing; it's important to me that companies are honest. Too many big corporations shit all over us in our everyday lives (Phone comapny, Electric co, etc.) for us to put up with it from the companies we choose to do business with. Thanks Joe for putting things right :)
 
For the record,
I would like the forum to know that I to do not work for EVGA or anyone else that makes computer stuff :p . Kidding aside it's great to have a true relationship bewteen users and creators.

I dissed you yesterday. I apologize now that the situation has been cleared up. I still think,like my mom said, "honesty is the best...blah,blah." Too bad your guy just couldnt have done that in the first place.
BTW I have several of your products and they are real nice. Your customer service is very good and very responsive.
I hope you will come here and let us know what nVIDIA has for us and help us with problems. Your BFG brethren have done so and are well liked.

Hmmm, if you really want 460/1250, you should just mod your bios and go to http://www.mvktech.net/ and get NiBiTor.

Basically

1) Use coolbits 2.0 and make sure your card is stable at 560/1250.

2) Backup your current bios using nvflash (dos boot disk) - keep a copy someplace safe

(nvflash 5.13)
nvflash -b backup.rom

3) Use NiBitor to modify the bios to give you 560 for core, and 625 mhz for the memory

(NiBiTor v2.3).
it's a windows program, save the modified bios as newbios.rom

4) Reflash it back to the card

nvflash newbios.rom

done.

This is HARDOCP afterall :) and i'm a noobie.

Auswak seems to have had no sneaky motives at all. So he did his job well.

Thanks for the help, I'll try that tonight, but I ditched my floppy when it broke down

So i'm lost, what did AUSWAK do that was so bad that you had to ask Kyle and Steve to let you make a thread?
