Hi everyone at [H],

I finally put together my system. The whole build took around 4 hours. Everything went fairly smooth, but I do see some problems.

First off,

The TRUE 120 seems to be too loose on the CPU. Well you can twist it left and right. I´ve heard about others saying this too, so I went straight to the washer technique, But the problem persists. You can twist the TRUE. My Bios temps say the cpu is at around 32-40 at IDLE. Ambient temperatures are sorta high though. CoreTemp shows something differntly though, around 28-32 spread throughout the cores.

Second,

How can I adjust the Vcore on the Abit IP35-E below 1.325V. For some reason, that´s the lowest setting available. But when I go into CPU-Z, Vcore hovers at around 1,1 - 1,2 volts.

Third,

I bought 4gb of OCZ Titanium XTC 4GB OCZ2T800C44GK. It´s supposed to be able to run at 2.1V and 4-4-4-15. When I set it to those settings, the system will hang, without it being overclocked. Leaving it on auto works just fine, but CPU-Z detects the timings as 6-6-6-18. On a side note, I ran 50 passes of test #5 with memtest+ and I had no errors.

I have yet to run some stress tests to find out if the system is stable at stock speeds.

Any help on these issues is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Thanks for the response.

My TRUE 120 came with that backplate, and the exact same screws. Everything is screwed in tight, as far as they go. So im not sure where its still able to move.

And I will have to check the voltage settings when I get home and see if the problem persists.

what's rest of your system include PS. might require updated bios so double check that.

The system is

Q6600 G0
Abit IP35-E
OCZ Titanium 4gb
Enermax Whisper II 535W
Gainward 8800gt

Like i said the bios is the latest version

hmm, maybe add some more small washers under the springs.

Also, make sure you check the manufacturer specs on the voltage. In my case, the default was 1.8v, but in order for me to run my ram at 400mhz, 4-4-4-12, I had to set it to the manufacturer rating(actually a little lower at 2v)

I´m back! with results!

I finally found a stable overclock:

3420 MHz

vCore - 1.465 in Bios (1.44 in CPUZ under load)
DDR2 - 456 MHz 1.8v
CPU VTT - 1.2375
ICH - 1.55
MCH - 1.29
GTLREF - 67%
FSB - 380
Multi - 9

Idle Temps - 32 34 30 31
Load Temps - 61 61 57 57

Prime Stable!

I did try to go for 3.6GHz before this but I believe heat was the factor that didn´t make it work. Temps reached 71 on 2 cores.

I will try to go up to 3.5GHz today and tweak some more.

As for the RAM, I ran it at 2.1v as stated by the manufacturer with no luck. Even tried 2.2v since they guarantee that 2.2v won´t void their warranty.

Seems that it runs fine at 6-5-5-15 at 400mhz at 1.8v, but that´s not what we want now is it :D

Anyway, judging from the temps, I would say it stays fairly cool, considering that my ambient temps are a bit high, so I don´t think I will modify the TRUE further.

All in all, I´m happy so far!

After looking at this Review site:

http://www.cluboc.net/reviews/memory/ocz/pc2-6400_ti_cl3/page2.asp

I´m kinda confused at to why my modules won´t run at their advertised speeds or come even close to it.

The modules in the review are similar to mine. Anyone know what the problem could be?

As I mentioned earlier, Voltage can be up to 2.2v yet it refuses to take lower timings. I did notice that when I ran the modules in synchronous mode it would load up a differnt JEDEC profile then when I set it to asynchronous mode. Synchronous though is out of the question for now as I can not get the FSB to 400 as of now without further testing.
