Well speaking from personal experience now I can say that it's one hell of a card. Before I get loads of people on my ass here saying it sux shit just let me tell you that it's completely up to you whether or not it's worth the extra cost over the 9800Pro, but it's still a nice card, that fact will always remain. I actually went from a BBA 9800Pro to my BBA 9800XT and other then the OC capability, the only real advantage is the 256MB ram.....which can be had on the 9800Pro as well. If you aren't gonna be breaking the bank to go with the XT instead then for sure, make the move, you won't regret it. The advantage to upgrading WAY to much (my problem) is that I can always sell my 1 generation old (if that) hardware to buy the new stuff. As a result, I basically got my 9800XT for $200 Canadian. Other then the raw performance of the card there is still some other stuff like the hardware/temp monitoring and a much nicer stock cooler that make it an added value but again.....it's up to you to decide if those things are worth it for him/herself.....nobody else.

Not everyone is in the same financial situation and some don't have the ability to sell off their old stuff like me.....and they're most of the people that tend to spout things like "It's a POS" or "What a waste of money".

Don't listen to them, look at the cold hard facts and weigh ALL the pros and cons for yourself and see how they'd effect you personally.

if you have enough funds to purchase a 9800xt and want the best of the best, then you might as well :) . however, the 9800 pro 'is' a better bang-for-the-buck.

like the other guy said, it's entirely up to you.

yeah, well money isn't the problem here.
i'm getting it for about 200 USD from someone i know.
but im not sure that ill get the XT cuz ive already ordered the PRO so if it wont get to me by Sunday, i will be able to change the oorder to the XT.

thanks anyway
