I recently purchased a 9800XT, and with stock cooling I can get it up to 450/370. However, I'd like to see if I can go higher, and I did see some cooling solutions. I'm interested in this and this .

Do either of these really make a difference in how high I can go, and is it really worth it to get?

I'm interested in the heatpipe one. Maybe I just like how it looks:p

The stock cooling seems to be pretty nice though.

PS I didn't know whether to post in here or the O'C & Cooling board, so feel free to move it!

"Super Cooling"????

Again...my vote for "Super Cooling" would be an MCW50-T

Heh..you're right. Didn't think of that. Any kind of watercooling would "supercool" you lol.

the zalman is fantastic if you wanna go the silent route and non-OC. but if you do get the zalman and do over clock *like me* be sure and get the optional fan.

and also, i have that zalman heatsink and fan combo on my 9800 pro, and i noticed that my card is actually starting to bend a bit under the weight of the heatsink... it still works... but it's bending. so in my case i just assume "ignorance is bliss"

how much lower are your temps with the zalman? will this be that much better than the stock XT cooling?

and whats up with the bending? doesn't sound too good!

the stock cooler on the 9800XT is pretty damn good...
and i dont think the vga silencer fits on it.
the only thing id upgrade the 9800xt to would be watercooling.

regarding the bending with the zalman.. I read on here somone put 2 slot covers together like a " T " and used it as a post for support.

So putting that Zalman Heatpipe with the fan wouldn't do much for my XT?

wouldnt really do too much.... the original cooler is better because of the large fan and all copper construction.

that looks pretty cool.

how much are those and where can i get one?

did he disconnect the stock fan?
