9700pro Volt Mod

So I just modded my aiw 9700pro.

I put on a stock athlon socket A heatsink (had to cut off some edges and stuff to make it fit)
Then I volt modded, and am running it at 1.95 (I know kinda high)

So I got my core running at 453mhz.
But what surprsied me was that before the volt mod to my GPU, my ram ran at 327mhz, but after, when I was running ati Tool, it went all the way up to 370. I didn't even touch or mod the ram in anyway.

So I ended up with my aiw 9700pro running at 453 core and 370 memory.
I ran 3dmark 03 with the core and mem at 459 and 475 respectively and got 6714.

Just that the whole ram thing confounded me. Any ideas?
 
In my experience any hardware mods to video cards is a little bit of a mix of vodoo and black magic. (The supersticious stuff and not the videocards)
 
That just means that your ram themselves can do faster speeds but your gpu's ram interface is what is slowing them down.
