9700pro or 5900nu

im in the market for a new videocard and am looking for cards somewhere around $200. ive found a 9700pro for $200 at newegg and 5900nu for around that same amount. what is the performance differences between the two cards...if any. i am no fanboy between nvidia and ati and brand name doesnt matter to me... ive been thinking about this for so long but i cant decide and have been looking into it for awhile.

9700pro- Superior DX9 support. Argued to have better AA than Nvidia. Pretty good/moderate overclocker.

5900nu- Chance of flashing to a 5950 and getting very very nice results. (would be faster than the 9700pro in a majority of non dx9 games after O/C) Poor dx9 support.

Stock for stock I'd say they're probably even though.
