Decided to finally upgrade to an M2 NVMe drive. Installed it successfully and at first ran into the issue of system not booting up. The motherboard manual says SATA ports 1-2 will be disabled when m2 drive is used. So I connected my existing ssd to port 5 and the system booted up fine.

The problem is that the m2 drive is not coming up as recognized anywhere, including the bios. I do not have much experience with m2 drives so not sure where to begin to troubleshoot.

Motherboard - MSI MS-7971 (Z170A PC MATE)

Could the issue be old bios version? Trying to update the bios but having trouble with mflash recognizing the file on the usb flash drive.

Thanks for your help
