9600XT fan speed control

Hi, everyone.

I have a new Sapphire 9600XT 128 MB board that won't change fan speeds.

Driver - catalyst 5.4.
System - HP Pavilion a810n with a custom (by Asus) MB.
CPU - AMD64 3300@ 2.4 gHz
Chipset - SIS 760 + 964 - latest drivers and bios

The board allows overclocking with ATI Tray Tools and ATITool, and shows GPU & environment temps, no problem.

When I attempt to change fan speeds with either, the change takes place in the program, speed readings change, but the fan stays at the same speed.

I have tried turning overdrive and vpu recovery on and off, but neither helped.

Any ideas?
