9600 or 6200?

I need to buy a relatively cheap videocard, that will still give me decent HL2/Chaos Theory/CSS etc performance....
Is the sapphire ATI 9600XT worth a look.....what about the AGP Nvidia 6200? I have $150....what about the vanilla nvidia 6600?

I would save up a bit more and buy a 6600gt. Much better performance for ~$25 more.

I agree for those games you might want to think about a 6600GT

If not I would at least get a 6600.

i would say get teh 6600.... if you can afford it a 6600gt.

the 6200 should cut the mustard but id feel more confident if you went for one of the 2 above.

It isn't a guarantee though and the 6600 vanilla is only a few bucks more.

I would consider it extremely likely, to the point of being guaranteed.

The cheapest 128bit 6600 is $139 at Newegg and it has slower memory.

Yeah, save up for a 6600GT. Otherwise, a 6200 is comparable to/better than a 9600, and has a chance of modding into a 6600.

Have they finally come out with AGP 6600's? i thought they only had the 6200's and the gt's. I have a 9600xt and it stops through half life two at 1024*768 with max detail; it's a good little card, but a modded 6200 or even stoker might do better.....

there are 9800pro's eom though for exactly 150$ @ newegg...but I would really suggest a few more bucks for the 6600gt..dont settle for anything less

I guarantee they have 6600GT's in AGP... point of fact, I am running one!

Only difference (that I can see) is that the PCIx version has memory default at 1ghz, and the AGP version has it default at 900mhz.

I have my memory at 1.13ghz, so... I have no idea why they did that. And, I really don't care. It works awesome!
