9550 > 9200

Anything less than a 9600Pro is a waste of time for gaming. If your not doing 3D work with Max or Lightwave, and or your not a gamer, there is really no point in getting a "fast" card. If you do fit one of those categories you shouldn't waste your time or your dollars on something so inferior.

Best advice is save for a 9600Pro or better.
 
if your doing casual gaming like me, an ati radeon 9200 is ok(just overllock it a lil). but if your a frequent gamer your should get 9500(im not familar with the 9550) and above. but the 9500 can own the 9600(normal edition)
 
nah, this is for a non gamer who wants to mayb fire up a game every once in a blue moon.
 
im able to play bf:viet at 1028 by 768 at between low and mediem detials, same with bf: 1942. counter-strike at the highest detial(no shit LOL),max payne 2 at 1028 by 768 mediem detials, need for speed: u at 1028 by 768 max out. there you go, thats what you capable of with a 9200. they going to be running at 20- 30 fps. but all this is running overclocked. look at my sig for the clocks...oh and by te way, these are what it WAS capable of when i had 512mb pc 2700 ram

your going to be a lot more happy if you buy a 9600pro for 111 on newegg with free shipping
 
The 9550 is just an even slower 9600 with no relation to the 9500 series cards. Be warned though. There are two versions of the 9550 one having the 128bit memory bus and the other having the 64bit bus which should be labeled the 9550SE. These cards were meant for the asian/pacific island regions.
 
only the 9500pro owns the 9600pro.
just get a 9600pro, its 10X better than a 9550.
 
There IS one 9550 that might be interesting if the price is right. That's the GeCube 9550 Extreme and Platinum Editions. It's got 3.6ns BGA type memory and the 128-bit bus. Unfortunally they just recently released the Extreme edition so it maybe awhile until it's out there in mass quanities. But those two look to be very overclockable on the memory side of things.
