options...

Take some wires, stuff them into the holes on the plug in the fan, and then in the +12V (yellow) and 0V (Black) on a molex. This is very ghetto, but works just fine.

Take a knife, cut off the end. Find a molex fan pass-though thing. cut off the plug on the end of that. Then twist, solder, & shrinktube the wires together.

magic.

;)

I thought the +V was the red wire, and the yellow wire was a pulse line for fan rpm?

Correct, but defcom_1 was referring to the Molex connecter. A Molex connecter is the connecter attached to your PSU's wiring. The Molex has a red wire (7v), a yellow wire (12v), and 2 ground wires. Thats why he said to hook the fan's wires to the yellow and black wires on the Molex. Or alternatively, you can hook up to the red wire, and slow down the speed of your fan (also reduces noise). If you'll look at the pic, you will notice that it only uses 2 wires anyway.

Ya I just didn't read that slowly enough - silly me (I was thinking he was talking about splicing into a 3pin fan connector) I was thinking to myself, that fan totally isn't going to turn if he splices the red fan wire to the yellow connector wire...

since u hav two wires, unlike the normal fans with three wires...its not a big deal... other fans hav three wires so the third one can sense the rpm of the fan... now, two wires mean ones ground/negative and ones positive...usuallie the black wires ground and red is positive... on the molex connector, connect the red to the yellow wire (12v)... and the black wire to the black wire(-12v) thats closest to the yellow wire, theres two black wires, dont confuse them.... then u can run ur fan off the 12v power.... if u wanna run it off 5v...then take the positive and put it on the red wire of the molex and take the black wire of the fan and connect it with the black wire directly next to the red wire on the molex... that fan will run 5v.... if u want to run it 7v... hook the positive with 12v and negative to the 5v so theres a 7v loss in between the transfer which is taken by the fan

its very simple... its jus basic electronics

have fun
