80 mm radiators

im thinking of slowly saving for a water cooling system and i got an idea on how to mount radiators without having to mod my case. i have 2 side panel 80 mm fan holes with fans in em. i was thinking i could leave the fans in mount the radiators on the fans, and build a stand for the radiators so they dont bend the metal. it would look like this :

would this work. id plan on using two 80 mm radiators with 52 cfm fans installed. would there be any radiators that could do this? thanks

You can't really mount them to ths side. How would you take it off once the hoses were connected? If you had them mounted to the the case and then the side fit snugly against it somehow. But that would take up a lot of room too. You might wanna rethink that.

Also, a pair of 80mm's wouldn't cool much better than a high end air setup. Go for at least a single 120mm with a shroud or a dual 120mm if you want any real performance from a liquid setup.

He could do it... Just like you said. Use a little bit of foam rubber window seal on a shroud plate between the side panel and the shroud to get a good seal. And mount the rad & fan to the bottom of the case. As long as his PCI cards didn't interfer. If there was enough room, he could even lay a dual 120mm core down long ways and cut those 2 small holes out to accomidate it.
You can do just about anything with duct tape and room!

Your right Rod, anything is possible especially on this forum. I'm just thinking that once he gets that mounted he won't have any room to get into his case. Could be a real pain in the ass to switch out any components. Being [H]ard isn't always about convenience though.

It does rely on what airflow is being pushed through the fan. A pair of Vantec Tornado's, althought loud, would yield pretty good results. The nicer thing about a 120 is that it can push a lot of air while remaining pretty quiet.

I know some one who has a Black Ice Pro mounted on the side of his case with the fans mounted on the outside of the side panel. That's pretty much like your idea, but it goes Fan>Panel<Rad
