I get corrupted text in IE9 only when there is high GPU usage. I only noticed when I started running a Bitcoin mining app that is running in the background. So I started see this while browsing. I can’t really test it while running a game full screen and I think that is why I can’t find anyone talking about it.

The "Use software rendering instead of GPU" setting? Is my GPU bad then?

While I personally never had that corrupted tekst like in your screen shot, I did get these screen flashes while browsing(powerplay changing core/mem clocks because of the GPU usage?) so I automaticly have been turning that setting off in any IE since the Catalyst 11.x drivers.

I also turn off hardware accel for flash videos since it did cause blue screens in the past.

Yea, I’ve seen the Flash thing a few times and have it disabled and it did seem to help the random crashing but that could have also been the 7XXX and Intel X79 motherboard thing that was causing random crashing. I’ve had two 7970 cards for a year now and I’m still afraid to water cool them as it seems like there is always some glitch that looks as though it could be bad hardware. :( I mean there are a ton of people that Bitcoin mine with AMD cards and I can’t seem to find anyone else that has this issue but then I think a lot of them us Linux and or not IE.

Don't worry, I get the same thing on my machines. I think it started occurring in the later CCC (12.11?).

Hello Tanquen,

I had these text corrupt issues with my old GTX 280 FTW before it died. This was the early sign on the video card going bad.

I have two 7970s in crossfire on my X58 system with no corruption issues in IE 10 with hardware acceleration enabled (Using Windows 8 Pro 64-bit).

But I'm on Windows 7 64-bit using IE9. Maybe I'll install IE10.

It doesn't look like it to me but I'll mention it just in case it helps. Do you have MLAA turned on in the drivers? If you do it will corrupt your text also. My corrupted MLAA text never looked that bad; it was missing chunks of letters, but your example is extreme.

I just bought a 7950 that had a similar issue corruption wise -- using the STOCK clocks out of the box/official drivers -- after about 30 seconds of running ANY 3d based load on the GPU -- my display would go corrupt as hell.

Single card being powered by a corsair TX850 -- not a power issue for sure. Guessing it could be an improperly seated GPU or VRM module -- not my problem, because if I tear into it to fix myself the whole warranty goes kaput. RMA'd to newegg today

friendly aside: FarCry Blood Dragon is FUN, and I'm actually enjoying Crysis 3 multiplayer.
