Depends on what type of Display you have you'll have better experience at Higher resolution. But 1600x1200 does a great job.

If you are planning to upgrade to GX2, i myself upgraded from Radeon x1900 to Geforce GX2 and i found it an awesome card, since it play all of my favourite titles GRAW/Quake 4 / F.E.A.R/ Company of Heroes/ BF2142 at 1600x1200 @ MAX Detail with 4xAA/16xAF and still great FPS (43-75 avg) FPS. 1600x1200 is ideal resolution for me.

the 7900gtx is still pretty powerful. my 7800gtx is the one that's getting old.

MCRAYGSX, do you have like a 3dmark06 bench score, could you post some please? i curious how much you will get with your system...thanks.

3D MARK 2006 score between 8973(first time ive ran on GX2) and 9215( ran the test today)

SM 2.0 score 4205
DR/SM 3.0 4083

This card is factory OC , so i havent touch the OC part myself, Going to OC next week and see what difference does OCing it makes.Ever since ive installed 7950 GX2 last week. My 3DMARK 05 and 06seems unstable bcuz it doesnt give me same score any more. I think it need to be Re installed.

In COH it gives me random results at different time even tho i have latest patch which is supposed to fix SLI .

that's why i don't "trust" ocing. always something can get in trouble when you oc. you get twice of what i get, i get about 4600. is that bad? (for my system)

is that 3dMARK 2006 scores ? If so 4600 is low for Geforce 7950 GX2.. Like my 3DMARK05 give me 9k scores and sometimes it give me 14k, which doesnt seem right.

But as long as your real games are running fineyou are ok , dont worry about 3Dmarks that much. I am going to Reinstall 3dMark 2005/2006 to see if does makes any difference.

All my Favourite Titles GRAW/FEAR/EVE-ONLINE/OBLIVION/BF2142 DEMO/COH/Quake IV runs just great with GX2, even at 1600x1200 4xAA/16xAF with awesome FPS. Which is impossible for my old Radeon x1900 512mb.

It's a no brainer. GX2 is superior. When compared to a 7900 GTX, games will run smooth @ higher resolutions, with settings maxed.
If you are thinking of upgrading now though, you might aswell wait for G80, since we're so close to its launch. G80 should re-define DX9 performance and add DX10 support. But if G80 doesn't interest you, waiting for it is also a good thing, because GX2 prices will drop and you can buy it cheaper then.

I myself am going to buy the GX2 7950 but i am getting two of them for quad SLI nvidia has new drivers out so i am going to blow away the compitition

for like a 2 weeks. spending nearly 1k dollars on GPU's right now is silly.
