7950 DOA?

I just finally got my 7950 after putting it off forever hoping for some nice price drop.

Anyhow now that I've put it into my system, I've played some games and randomly in the middle the computer will shut down and reboot, no BSOD, just powers off and back on.

I own a Thermaltake 700W psu (I believe Toughpower series), and before I dropped in the 7950 I was running 2 5770s in crossfire without any known issues. There are no OCs on the machine, what could be the problem?
 
Just a wild guess: driver issue? I'd try using something like ccleaner. Although, I don't think it's a big deal going AMD to AMD or nVidia to nVidia.

I would do a google search for something along the lines of "video card random shutdown". Somebody else's grief might give you an idea. That's how I usually resolve odd issues like this.

EDIT: Oh yeah, and make sure that the card isn't overheating. Use catalyst control center in the overdrive section to monitor the temps.
 
I had the Thermaltake TR2 750W and with the 5870 where I saw this issue occasionally (GPU-Z showed that temps were never about 69 deg so that was not an issue). I never suspected that that my PSU might be the issue (this is in my system since I built it 3 years ago)

When I got my new MSI GTX680 lightening, games will not even start (It will boot fine into windows) but when games start it will reboot. I finally determined that the PSU (and my particular model has really bad rating) and changing it to a corsair AX850W did the trick. So may be you might have the problem I had.
