7900gt power

He has what power supply? ...And the other components in the system would help to gauge any 'spare' power too.

According to Newegg, that power supply puts out a maximum of 19 amps on the 12 volt rail. According to the manufacturer's web site, that number is only 16 amps.

Not enough for a 7900GT, in my opinion. Furthermore, that's only a 300 watt power supply. Just as a rough guideline, BFG estimates the following:

A 350W PCI Express compliant system power supply (with 12V current rating of 20A or more)

How much are you willing to spend for a power supply?

never heard of this psu brand, but for $10 i smell its not one of the best. yes the system specs would be usefull, but in general this card with a C2D and some extra hardware wouldnt go over the 200W consumption mark.
