7890 coming or?

hey folks!

Does anyone know if there is a 7890 coming? I'd need to make my setup decisions on it hehe.

If 7890 comes and it can run with 7870/7850, I'm gonna go m-atx with tri-fire, else I'm gonna make a nasty ITX gamer with a powerful single GPU card.

I doubt a 7890 will be coming ever, and if so, will be after nV releases their mid-range enthusiast cards e.g. gtx 650, 660.

A 7980 (perhaps a higher-clocked 7970) on the other hand may be a possibility, but not for a while.
 
There's no reason for a 7890. The 7870 is too close in performance to the 7950 as it is. There's only about a 10% difference between the two.

Rename the 7950 to 7890
rename the 7970 to 7950
introduce the "new" 7970
