7850 VS 7950

I first bought a 7850 for $260 a week ago, now I see a 7950 for $310. Should I try to sell my 7850 and get the 7950? Is the performance that different after OC? Which one can OC more?

I can get additional rebate which would bring the final price to $220 for the 7850 and $260 for the 7950.

If you're interested in overclocking you can OC your current 7850 to match a 7950 speeds if you have a good chip. Save you the hassle.

Got a link for the rebate on the 7850 and which card? I'm waiting for my replacement to come back that I just purchased and would love some information on that. I'm replacing a Gigabyte 5770 OC Edition.

HD7950 is moar powerful. HD7850 for that price will be a great value for a capable 28nm gaming card.

I think the 7950 will be a pretty big step up from the 7850 if you plan to OC both of them. I have a 7870 and I'm itching to upgrade to a 7970 -_-

If you JUST bought the card a week ago, why would you SELL it, just return it to the store. When you sell, you lose some of the money you paid for it.

thats a freaking hot deal on the HD 7950. Go for it. its a no brainer.

which HD 7870 card do you have. at what price did you get it. and what resolution are you gaming at. If you got your card recently and can return it without any restocking fee you can consider getting MSI HD 7950.

HD 7950 (1150) will get you 20 - 25% higher perf compared to HD 7870 (1250) .

7850 here, running 1200/5300 = gtx 580 but much cooler and less powerdraw and smaller, sexier if you ask me.

What voltage are you running for that? I got mine up to 1290/6000 stable at 1185mV, but running at 1200/5800 1110mV since I dont need that much power.

1.185 but the cooler on it isnt as good as other 7850's. ican get 1225 when its cool in my room on same volt. Im getting a better heatsink,1250 should be easy.
