You'll get some performance increases out of it, but it might only be slightly noticeable.

I agree with Batotman, just keep the 2.6 and overclock. 2.6 P4C is still a very solid processor.

Has anyone suggested overclocking yet?

well, his sig says it's a P4@2600... so it could be a slower chip already overclocked TO 2600...hence the @.

With an 800FSB I'd sure as shit hope not.:D

i have heard that it could make the cpu unstable, as well as the chance of overheating.

Possible, but not likely. If you lock the agp/pci bus, and set your ratio to 5:4, and put your FSB at 250, you will be at 3250. Right guys? The multiplier on a 2.6c is 13, right? You may have to bump the cpu voltage a little, but not much. I have my 2.4c at 3ghz running on a 250mhz fsb at 5:4, just had to bump the cpu voltage to around 1.6v, totally stable. I know a lot of guys have done this much and better on default v. All this said assuming in general that 2.6c's o/c as well as 2.4c's.
