I have an old portable DVD player that suddenly stopped playing DVD's. The screen turns on fine it just doesn't play DVD's anymore. I just recently built a media/file server and could really use a display for that that is small and easy to slide out of the way. The portable player has video in/out on one 3.5mm plug and audio in/out on another 3.5mm plug. I am assuming that if I get one of these that I should be able to hook the screen up to the computer's s-video port with the use of a svideo to composite adapter.

Think that this will work?

Yes it should work. Of course you'll have to fiddle with some video settings and font sizes to sharpen it up a tad.

The cable that I posted above came in today, I hooked it up and after figuring out how to get the right video input I got it to work. I am not going to say that this is the best screen in the world but it does turn on and show a "display" lol, and thats all I really need it to do. Like I said above it is hooked up to a file/media server and I just want something there so I can transfer files over from another HDD, thumb drive, etc.

That's all, just posting how it turned out in case someone else is looking to do something similar.
