6970 + 6950 Crossfire Question

I currently have a XFX 6970 and interested in purchasing a second one for crossfire.

I qwas reading about the sapphire 6950 toxic edition and seen that its a great card for OC and unlocking for the price. plus it comes with 2 free games im interested in playing.

Would I be able to unlock and overclock the sapphire toxic card to the 6970 bios and match the oc to my 6970 and run it in crossfire with out any issues?
I currently have my 6970 oc'd to 930/1420
 
The 6950 toxic can be unlocked by simply flipping the BIOS switch, but there is no guarantee that it will work.
But even if it does not unlock, 6950 and 6970 can be crossfired without issues.
 
Hardest part with the Toxic is finding them, as of now, newegg has them back in stock again.

The Toxic is the 6970 PCB (second reference design) with the 8pin + 6pin power connector.
 
If you run the 6950 with a 6970 bios you might screw up your card as the memory is slower on the 6950. (this happened to quite a few people with the reference model, for others it worked ok) Best to unlock and then overclock with the modified bios rather than use a 6970 bios. If you crossfire both of the cards they will run I believe at the slower settings (i.e the 6950, so if it is unlocked you will be running with the slower memory)
 
So even if I run both cards as 6950s Id see a decent boost in performance right?
(if i just run them in factory settings the 6970 will downclock to a 6950 right?)

I currently have a corsair 620 power supply so Im thinking I'd also need atleast a 750w psu. Im running a pII x6 1090T @ ~4.0ghz
 
If you operate both cards at 6970 stock speeds and use the fast BIOS switch position on the 6950 Toxic, you will essentially have 6970 CF.

6950+6970 CF is reportedly faster than 6950 CF.

A good 620W PSU should be sufficient, but it has not much room for further overclocking.
