6870 hitting 86c

Yesterday and Today dont seem to be my days, I just got my rv03 yesterday and now my 6870 is hitting 86c, while gaming. It will run at that temp for about 20 minutes then the game freezes for about 20 seconds. Turns out that the driver is crashing and it recovers while the game is frozen. I do not understand why with the new case this card is getting so hot.
 
Are you using a reference 6870?

Some coolers do not like being in the vertical position like in the RV-02 or 03. Seriously try turning the case so that the cooler is sitting horizontally like in a normal case to see if that is the cause.
