i just got a 6800GT and its great. a lot faster than my 9700pro :) i am going to overclock it after buring it in for a little bit longer. what kind of overclock should i be expecting to get? and how does a oc'ed GT compare to an ultra? and which oc'ing tool do most people agree is the best? lovin this card so far. too bad i had to go out of town right after getting it hehe

your overclock depends on alot of things.

Typical results show most people can get either just past ultra settings, 400 mhz and 1.1 ghz.

Some people can get better, something like 420 1.15.

But it depends on your case cooling, the card manufacturer, the GPU quality, shtuff like dat.

now the ultras usually don't get that great of an OC, but it depends on the cooling alot.

there is a regedit tool calledcoolbits that allows you to OC within Nvidia drivers.

you might get flaymed tho for posting this question.

Well, first of all overclocking is varible but with good cooling you should get somewhere around ultra speeds, my personal favorite overclocking tool is Powerstrip, you can get it at http://entechtaiwan.net/util/ps.shtm, but carefully consider the risk of OC'ing before you do.

i just wanted some quick oc numbers. i didnt know what ultra stock speeds were. thanks for the info! i have thought about using coolbits and rivatuner but havent decided which yet.
