Hey everyone, whats up? I just wanted everyone to know that i DID flash my 6800GT PCIe to an ultra and even though i was able to bring my clocks higher, it didnt do anything for performance. So i fladhed back, but this time i used a program that was the easiest thing ever to up my voltage to 1.4 and when i did, i went from 420 max overclock to 450 and im not done yet. My stock 6800GT 3dmark2003 score was 12,000. My score now is 14,350. Not too bad huh. The program is called Nibitor and you load your bios(or any bios) into it and change what ever you want. ANYONE can do it, it lets you pick from 1.2-1.5 and then your done. Flash the modded bios and your golden. You can change the clocks, whatever. If anyone wants to know more, let me know and ill follow up post with step by step directions. This can be done with any Nvidia card...PCIe or not.

Of course......that was my first card i ever did this stuff to. Unfortunitly, the bios cant give higher voltage, you have to do that with a volt mod, but they are easy if you use SMD grabbers instead of soldering. But, you can use a program called ragedit and that lets you do the same thing to ati bios. You can adjust the clocks and memory timings. I used to do that instead of overclocking my card, id just put the clocks to what ever my top overclock was and i was all set. I had my 9800pro volt modded, heatsink modded, and the clocks set to 460/400 in the bios. This Nvidia program is the easiest thing i have ever seen to do volt mods, clock changes, memory timing, ect all in one simple to use program.

I've heard these puppies die after 4 months of using such high voltage (read about 8 cases in all).
ok, here is a step by step by step for noobs.....here goes:
First you need to back up your bios, so you can mod it to what you want later. To do this the way i did, u must get NVflash 5.08 get it here: http://www.mvktech.net/index.php?op...=26&func=fileinfo&parent=folder&filecatid=701
Next you need the program called Nibitor and you can get it here: http://www.mvktech.net/index.php?op...=26&func=fileinfo&parent=folder&filecatid=741
Now make the backup of your bios by using the a bootable floppy to get into DOS and typing the following at the a:nvflash -b backup.rom ......... now exit back to windows
Now open the program Nibitor and open the bios file you just copied. Here you can change what you like, i changed my voltage to 1.4 and the clocks to 440/1150....but you can do what you like, start small and move up slowly with coolbits to see where your at first. Now that your done, save the file to something small like "68mod.rom" and put it on the bootable floppy.
Now get back into DOS and type the following: nvflash -5 -6 68mod.rom ......your now done, reboot and enjoy. Remeber that you will need great cooling if you want to add voltage. I use the NVsilencer5 and im at 450 right now.......good luck.

well, i have done this with SOOOO many different cards and none except my first(i didnt know what to do) died on me. The 9800pro gets 1.7 volts to the core......i gave it 2.0 and had the core up to 460 from 378. And i used it 24/7 for almost 2 years. I also did it with my 5900ultra and i still have it. If you know what you are doing and have good cooling, you cany go wrong.......there are always gonna be people that are affriad, and thats ok....

ok this bios edit util must be new cos i haven't seen it there b4, but i used other bios edit util from the same website and it worked like charm.. unfortunately even after 10+ flashes i still haven't figured out how to permanently enable 16,6 pipes through bios flash. im startin to think that website stated they got permanent 16pipe on leadtek 6800nu after 6800ultra flash was full of sxxx. i'll prob have to try [h]mod when i have time.

I'm thinking of moving to water cooling for my GTs in a month or so. When I do, I think I'd like to give them a little bit more voltage. Currently I'm limited to 390/1100, and even that gives me slight artifcating in certain places (turtles back in 3dm03 and sea-monster in 3dm05 - not found any in games yet).
