6600gt agp problem

I bought an msi 6600gt agp and am having problems with it. It works fine for 2d things in windows, but the second i try to do something 3d or even open up dxdiag or the nvidia properties under display properties the screen will go black and I have to reset the machine. I was using a very cheap 400w allied power supply that was only rated for 12a on the 12v rail. I replaced it with an antec smartpower 350 that says it is 21a on the 12v rail but I am having the same problem. Is this a power problem or do I need to rma the card?
 
Supposedly alot of MSI 6600gt owners have been having problems with their cards, specifically with one's arriving DOA, or shortly sputtering out after installation. I would suggest calling up MSI, and if that doesn't work RMA that bastard.
 
I actually figured out the problem. It was some problem with my Asus a8v bios. I updated it to 1009.007 from 1009.006 and now my 6600gt is working fine. Whether it'll die of some other problem soon remains to be seen.
 
Make sure the heatsinc is on there properly i was talking to some other ppl and one of the guys had his heatsinc fall off when he was installing it !! lol says a little something about quality control... also i heard the stock heatcincs arent particurly good even wen attached properly. if i were you id consider getting a 3rd party cooling system.
