6600 Ultra question

I don't know I just did a google search and found a few results. Most are in german and it may be a bad translation, but a few of the english sights mention it too. I for one wouldn't think there true. Look at it this way: if they released a card slighty faster than the 6600gt it would fall in the price range of the 6800NU. Now this would effectively slaughter 6800 sales. why? because the 6600GT already performs on par and in some cases better than the 6800NU. So again I think it is highly unlikely.

well currently it is the
X700 XT vs 6600GT
but then Nv is going to release the 6600 Ultra to one up ATI
then ATI is going to release a X700 XT PE, (Platinum Edition)
then Nv is going to release a 6600 Ultra Extreme Edition
then ATI is going to release a X700 XT PE SuperDeluxe Special Edition
then Nv is going to release a 6600 Ultra Extreme Super Duper Deluxe Extra Special Edition......
and then.......
By the time they're done you'll need a 700w PSU and a vapor phase unit that takes up a spare room in your house to keep it cool and there will be only 2 units made per month b/c the yields are so low on such a super high clocked GPU that is way too fast (mhz) for the architecture/process.

Yah but by then, the Geforce 6800 GT will be cheaper than the 6600 Ultra Extreme Super Duper Deluxe Extra Special Limited Time offer card. So wouldn't you rather just buy that, and also, the 6800GT takes less time to pronounce. ok after intense searching on which review site was it i finally found it for a moment i thought i was all dreaming about the article lol.

With the great overclocks, that all the review samples seemed to be doing, I wouldnt doubt at some point that they release a faster clocked version. (like GF2 GTS Pro, then GF2 Ultra later) I cant wait until they switch the 6800's over to .11 micron process, and we can crank those babies up to 600Mhz like the 6600's seem to be able to do fairly easily. (from review sources)
Probably not. 1100-1200MHz memory is still rare. See how many x800 XT PE and 6800 Ultras you can find compared to x800 Pro and 6800GT availability.
On pricewatch, I counted 13 (mostly OOS) XT PEs and 40 6800 Ultras (also mostly OOS) and most were $100+ over MSRP anyways.
But what can NVIDIA do after the 6600GT? Probably the NV41 (12 pipelines?). The 256-bit memory interface will safely put it in the lead with a 128MB version at $200.
I just ordered a PCI-Express system and will probably wait for the NV41 256MB.
