I have an old Asus P4S533/645DX board that I want to use for an additional computer on my WLAN. It has a P4/1.8 GHz Northwood running at 2.4 Gigs and 2x512Mb PC2700 ram plus a 6600GT video card.

Currently it's running XP/home.sp2 but has some stability issues. I've recently moved my work over to a new C2D running Vista/64 ultimate so I would like to rebuild the old P4S533 and put it to other use at home in my LAN.

I have an extra license for Vista Home Premium and thought I'd load that on there in place of XP. I also thought I'd get any chipset driver updates for the 645DX but see only LAN and Graphics chipset drivers for this (under Vista). The XP drivers are much more numerous with drivers for:
(some examples, not complete)
-SATA and RAID
-GPU graphics
-----Xabre series
-----SiS315 series
-----SiS300/Sis305 series
-IGP graphics (integrated?)
-Audio
-----SiS7012
-----SiS7018
-Network driver
-----SiS163 WLAN controller
-----SiS162 WLAN controller
-----SiS160 WLAN controller
-----SiS900 & integrated SiS LAN
-----SiS191 Gigabit & Sis190 LAN
-IDE driver
-AGP (GART) driver
-Embedded system

I have no clue which drivers I need. Here's the SiS download site:

I assume that formatting my C: drive will take care of any old driver issues that may exist and I don't have worry with Driver Cleaner, etc.

What would you recommend I do about the chipset drivers? Also, how much ram will VistaHP take up on this system? Will 1 Gb ram suffice?

Thanks in advance.
