6150/430 Sff

yes i know about the 330n, but it sucks, doesnt even have gigabit ethernet,,,, like WTF?

im wondering about anything anyone can say about SFF barebones using the 6150/430 chipsets...

shuttle? aopen? ??


dvi output prefered.
pcie or nvidia gigabit ethernet prefered (no pci gb chips please)
azalia audio w/ spdif prefered
overclockability prefered...

For the most part, Gigabit ethernet is a gimmick sell, something you'll never likely to use.

However, for what you're looking for, the other other option is the AOpen XC CUBE EZ482. although it isn't 6150/6100/430-based (Xpress 200), and thus lacks your nVidia Gigabit options (although it does have gigabit lan).

I'd say just to buy a case you like and build a m-atx yourself.

GbE is a no brainer, even if it is a gimmick i mean the marginal cost is likely around 50 cents. but for me it isnt a gimmick, i have a small lan, where have lots of high bandwidth interaction with my fileserver.


and the xpress 200 chipset sucks. like i said, i want pcie GbE OR nvidia GbE, i quiet frankly would prefer a pcie solution... but the chipset still sucks, the ati southbridge has very poor usb performance, no sata2, and is not very robust.

Uhhh I have GigE on my local home network and use it at least 2-4 times a month when I take my computer to a LAN. So GigE is a spec that I look at when choosing a mATX mobo since we are limited in space.

LAN Chipset Marvell 88E1111 PHY
LAN Speed 10/100/1000Mbps
Max LAN Speed 10/100/1000Mbps

and the cost is only 90$ you might want to check it out

the board was finicky initially but now it works as expected, the overclocking sucks. raid5 is nice.

Gigabyte also has a 6150/430 mobo out. You can find it at Newegg.

I haven't heard anything about SFF barebones systems yet. I think you'll have to wait a little while as the mobo manufacturers are just starting to release the boards.

it doesnt have dvi,,
but isnt it weird they arent even announced?
