6 x GPU2 Clients: 100% CPU Utilization?

I thought this had been fixed?

Currently running WinXP Pro x64 SP3. I have 6 x GPU2 Clients running and I am at 100% utilization. I thought this was supposed to be down to less than 5%?

I'm currently running 182.08 nVidia Drivers.

I'm currently running 8 GPU clients on WinXP Pro x64 myself with a dual core A64 5000+ and am seeing CPU usage bounce between 1% and 10% as per task manager

I'm frickin' running a PII 940!!! My goal was to use the extra CPU Cycles for WCG. At 100% utilization not much WCG work is getting done and the box is sluggish as all get out

What driver are you using?

Try going back to the 181.20 CUDA drivers: http://www.nvidia.com/object/cuda_get.html

I've had good luck with them. The new GeForce drivers might have a bug.

I have a celeron D running 2,
9800GT cards. Very low CPU use on it as well.

For clarification. the drivers i'm using are the latest form nVidia (just installed windows 3 days ago).

The 181.20 drivers are the lastest CUDA 2.1 drivers released.

Which protiens are you crunching ??
The newly released 420 pointers need more CPU time to run but put a lesser but variable strain on the vid cards.
If your running with the -advmethods flag then you'll get the new protiens.
Try removing it and see if the older protiens help keep the CPU load down.

The latest from eVGA is 182.06
The latest from nVidia is 182.08
The latest from CUDA is 181.20

Apparently I am running 180.48 (downloaded from eVGA a couple of weeks ago)

Couldn't this be simpler?

On the box I currently have 3 x 353 pointers and 3 x 511 pointers

The 180.48 still load the CPU to 100% like the older 178.24 drivers did.
The change to low CPU usage was with 180.60 drivers.

Well that would explain a few things. Downloading the latest from all three sources listed above and we'll see where we stand after.

ok. Problem solved

0 to 3% CPU Utilzation. Now that everything is set up, I can forget about this box and move on to the next infrastructure build

yeah the 180.xx drivers were a friggin joke.. broke everything.. and im not liking the 181.xx drivers either.. talk about insane video lag when using cuda..
