OK, so I bought a Tagan 1100w PSU. It has 6 rails, and each one says 20a
My question is this, lets say you have 1 8800 GTX. When I think of rails, I am thinking connectors. In other words.
4 rails = the 4 PCI-E 6 pin's
2 rails = the 2 PCI-E 8 pin's
so that = 6 rails.
if I plug in 1 GTX i assume that I can only tap into 2 rails as the GTX has 2 6 pin connectors. So I see the GTX being able to use a max of 40a. Is this an accurate way of looking at it, or am I looking at this in the wrong way? Can the GTX tap into all 6 rails even though its only connected to 2 of the PCI-E Power connectors?
