Hey every one, i was wondering if there are different types of pci-e 6 pin plugs. my power supply has one but it will not fit my card (AMD Radeon HD 7770 ghz edtion by asus).
it seems that one of the pins is not shaped properly on the 6 pin for my psu, and there for will not fit my card.

My question is why tho. Arent all 6 pin plugs the same. Does mine have a different purpose?

Thank you for your time :)

PCI-E plugs are all the same however some PSU's (like some Topower units) use EMI filters at the back of PSU cables, which make them hard to plug in.

What's your PSU?

There is 6 pin, 8 pin, and 6 +2 pin (Either 6 or 9) That is all. But yes, he's right, some have a filter which make it difficult to plug in. Maybe some pictures of the connector on the video card, and on the PSU?

a bit of a better discription of what the 6 pin on the psu looks like, the pin just below the clip on the plug is square, when it should look like this \ _ /
