5850 Crossfire Issues

I need help, to put it simply. I've been an Nvidiot for years. Swore by nvidia. I have crossed over into the realm of AMD/ATi. So here's my setup

AMD 1055T @ 4.2ghz 1.45v
Asus Crosshair Formula IV
4x2gb G.Skill Eco @ 1600mhz 9 9 9 27 31 1.6v
2x5850 (one is Diamond one is Asus) both are same reference using latest drivers (jan 26 leak)

The problem I'm having severe screen flickering. If I so much as enable amd overdrive or msi afterburner the screen flickers like I've done 6 drops of acid and went into a disco hall. At stock they are fine, temps are 45-50c idle @ 22% fan. The moment I turn everything off they stop.

After 8 hours of research I cant find a fix. So I have come to you dedicated few who gave your hearts to red a long time ago.

I appreciate the help you provide.
 
Running afterburner, I had the same issue with my crossfired HD5850s.. i found the problem coming from afterburners polling setting. It caused stuttering everytime it pulled info from my cards.
 
Is overdrive still set to the correct default clocks for the card? (Even if you haven't changed them they could for whatever reason be wrong)
 
i had the same issue. there is a registry hack i had to do to fix it. google 5850 screen flicker and you should find it. has to do with some form of power management... i'll look for a link later.
 
can't find the link but...

i know you go into the 2d section of the driver and find "enableupls" and change it to zero.
there are four places it can potentially be a 1.

0000
0001
0002
0003

if you can't find it in regedit, i know i can give you an exact path when i get home from work tonight. if you google how to enable the new mmla aliasing feature on 58xx cards, you will be guided to the same area in regit.
 
ok so I disabled every "enableulps" and it doesnt flicker as much but still in most 2d apps it flickers. Any other solutions? I'm tempted to just go back to NVidia, however I cant SLI on my current board :/

only fix i knew of.... i hated xfire 58xx series.... sorry bro.
 
it's set to advanced, it only happens in 2d apps. Doesnt hurt anything just annoys the sh*t out of me.
