Well' I hope my first post here wont be too naggy, well here goes.

I've just built a new pc with the following parts:

CASE:Chieftec Dragon3 Mini-Middle Silver
Motherboard: Asus A8R32-MVP Deluxe
PSU: Fortron BlueStorm 500W (I've check some reviews, good psu... neoseeker)
GFX Card: ATI X1900XT 512MB
RAM: 2 x 1024MB Corshair XMS
HD1: 36GB 10,000 rpm raptor
HD2: 250GB WD

Cooling: Air

1 x 120mm Coolermaster (rear exaust, connected to mobo (label "pwr fan"))
2 x 90mm Zalzman (Hd cooling, right side, connected to mobo(label"CHA_F1"&"CHA_F2))
2 x 80mm Coolermaster (mobo cooling, left side)

The problem:
I had complete crashes when playing graphics intensive games, like CS:S and Oblivion.
I.E. The pc just shuts off. Now this must be either a temperature problem or a power problem...

Any thoughts, anyone? :)

While Idling, (I have the 80mm fans unplugged at the moment).

GPU (Overdrive in CCC): 48-50 °C

CPU (CoreTemp BETA 0.9.0.91):
Core 1: 33-34 °C
Core 2: 36-37 °C

Case(CoreTemp):
TCaseMax: 57 °C (Can't be... I just put my hand in the case, to comfirm it. :p)
Can you suggest any other application to measure the temps?

Room temp: About 24 °C

Im going to test it under load soon.

I don't have access to one, I could however find someone who owns one tomorrow. Anything else?

Maybe I'm just overreacting, 2 power-offs so far after about 1 1/2 weeks of use.

Edit:

So do you think that the PSU really is the cause?

Under Load:

CPU:
Core1: 37-39 °C
Core2: 39-40 °C

GPU: 69-70 °C ??? Is'nt this pretty hot? ( I tabbed CS:S down to the tray and the temp dropped pretty fast down to about 60 °C...)

Edit:

Gfx card dropped down further after few minutes to 51 °C, so is a 20 °C increase under load normal?

No, that is why I asked about your temps, however I could be, so borrow a DMM & find out for sure. ;)

I think I found the problem, the fan on the GPU was only turning at about 30% of its full speed, at all times, not speeding up when intensive applications were run. Im now using ATI Tray Tools by Ray Adams and Idling temp is now 47 °C 32% Fan speed and under heavy load it goes as far as 61 °C but fan usage is only at about 55% and no blackouts so far.

Seems strange that CCC and Ati Overdrive did'nt increase the fan speed when something heavy was being run...

Hell' I could even overclock this card with just Air-cooling... :)

Thanks for your help/thoughts anyways! :D

I was reading through this thread and was about to post that one of your fans was probably not running correctly :D
