~$500 For a Display

What would you guys buy if you had $500 to spend on a display? It would be used for gaming as well as general PC tasks. It would be connected to my Radeon 5870 so I should have horsepower enough for good resolution.

Right now I have a basic 24" Dell @ 1920x1200, but I am wondering if there is something really nice out there that is worth considering.

UPDATE:
I am thinking maybe my best option is 2x24" LCD displays and use Eyefinity. So, what displays would be my best option in my price range?

I doubt your going to be able to get a 30" for $500 bucks. They're going refurb for $799 and about the cheapest you can get them for on Craigslist is $600 ish if your very lucky.

Is your Dell a 2407WFP or 2408WFP?
 
It's the 2407 I think. It was the most basic one they had.

I can stretch the budget a bit if there is something really awesome. A 30" would be sweet, but I thought they'd all blow away my budget.

I was thinking about that. Which monitor would be a good way to go? I was planning on giving my parents my current display because they need a new one. So I am going to need a new display (or displays) either way.
