With 4k 28"-32" monitors, because of the AG that's on them:

What's sharper, 1440 27" glossy/PDC (no AG), or the 4k (with AG)?


I can't tolerate 27 & 1440 with AG, text is too fuzzy and difficult to read.
 
Disclaimer: I don't own a 4k display of any type.

Sharpness with a 4k display, so I've heard, depends a lot on what OS you're using. Mac OS X for example supplies proper scaling options for 4k displays, where windows does not. I've heard Windows 8 has better scaling options than Windows 7, but I can't confirm, regardless I've heard 4k is not usable unscaled at 28 inches.

And in regards to 27" 1440p displays, have you tried one with a semi-glossy coating?
I'm using an EV2736W and I have no issues with sharpness or text clarity whatsoever.

I did, I had a BL2710PT and the difference between its semi-gloss and dell's harsh AG, was not nearly as significant as the difference between semi-gloss and gloss.

In other words, the semi-gloss is still quite fuzzy. :(



I had a 4k 28", but unfortunately I didn't have it very long and forgot to make a good comparison of this aspect. My 28" was returned due to extreme shifting.

I gotcha, maybe try for a Crossover 2720MDP; it's the best multi-input glossy 1440p monitor.

All of the current generation 4k monitors seem a little under par right now, so I wouldn't suggest any right now, especially if you already owned one.
Keep in mind though, Asus plans on releasing a single-tile 27" 4k in the future which may be worthwhile.

I'm using 27QW (PDC), it's amazing. I love it much more than my old glossy monitor. The sharpness appears to be identical, but it reduced glare significantly.
I'm just curious about 4k's future, for me.

You'll want to investigate how your OS handles HiDPI. If you use Windows, 28" 4K is going to be rough, as many apps (the majority) were not designed for it. No matter how good the screen is, Windows will happily try to 'scale' apps to be the right size, causing them to become blurry.
