Just tried installing a XFX 4890 I picked up and I'm encountering some problems. I'm running an Antec Neo 520w PSU, KA780g motherboard.

Double checked the 2x6 connectors, they seem to be fine. When hitting the power, the card runs at 100% fan (or so it sounds), and the D1601 light stays solid (critical temperature fault.) I threw a 4830 into my system just to check everything and it seems fine (typing on the system now.) I've seen issues of compatibility and what not, but not so many solutions. Any help or suggestions?

let me update this. The system is posting and seems to start up normally, but I'm receiving no video output. I've noticed that this seems to be a relatively common issue with 4890s, but I can't seem to find a solution to it. Any help is appreciated.

Maybe try a different monitor? I forget which card exactly but I remember about 2 years ago I had a 4 series card that was not compatible with my monitor. Plugged it into a different monitor and it worked just fine.

It is common. I had a 4870...ran it thru Furmark. End of story. Same symptoms.
