I am running 4890"s in crossfire with i7 920, What would you suggest that would be a worthwhile upgrade. Willing to spend up to $500.

Also, what would be a fair price for the used 4890's?

Thanks.............J

I would go with crossfire 6950s.
As for the price, probably around $80 each on the forum. Maybe a little less with 460gtx SEs going for cheap.

For $500, why not a pair of 6950's in Crossfire. Think that would be the most grunt you could get for $500. Would be a pretty big upgrade from your current pair of 4890's.

6950s in crossfire is a good recommendation for sure. If you feel like trying nvidia out 2 GTX 560Ti's in SLi are okay too but 6950 crossfire performs much better.

Are the 4890's holding you back currently? If not, I would hold out for the 28nm cards at the end of this year in order to see maximum improvement. If its time to upgrade now, the 2gb 6950 recommendation is hard to beat.

Awesome, thanks very much guys!
It's a customer machine, and he just want to spend money.
