4850 to 5870?

I wouldn't do anything other than trying for 3ghz if you are doing a build later this year. There's only 3 months left o_o.

Page 38 in your manual should get you started. Write down your current settings before you start messing around. Follow the guides linked earlier in the thread and you should be ok. Make your changes in small increments.;)

Awesome everyone im going to mess with it all day tomorrow. i had to call the day short today been in alot of pain so i couldn't get to getting everything ready to mess with but first thing in the morning ill get after it an return some results of which i hope are ok. Thanks again!/

whats so bad about gaming on a tv? its not as crisp but it seems to look rather well. Am i missing something?
As everyone has said, don't bother with a 5870 unless your gaming at 1080P (1900x1080) or better. Hell even your 4850 will be able to max out just about every game at your TV's low res of 1366x768.

There are a couple reasons PC gaming on a LCD TV is potentially bad. 1st is input lag. TV's aren't built to the same high standards that good quality monitors are. Those tv's that are high quality tend to have other special features for image enhancement that can add up to a half second in lag. I've experienced it first hand with a 42" tv in the family room with a 15" in the kitchen. The 15" is always ahead of the 42" and what seems like an echo when both of them are on. The problem only got worse when I added the cable box to the 42". The new 120hz and 240hz TV's make the input lag problem substantially worse, to the point of unplayable IMHO. Those TV's have to take a base 60fps signal and create frames to smooth the image until there were 120 or 240 frames shown when there was once 60. If you use a VGA or component connection (instead of HDMI or DVI) on the LCD TV your adding another small bit of lag because the TV has to convert the analog signal back to digital. On PC's it's best to reduce lag wherever you can when playing twitch shooters online.

2nd reason is if you have a big screen LCD TV on your desk, the resolution is so small that you can get easily distracted by the enormous pixels. If the TV is 6 feet away, then it isn't an issue.

This is probably the dumbest question ever. I have read the motherboard manual over an over an i cant seem to get into the bios. i have never had this problem before with other motherboards but it seems like this loads to fast ill hold down delete (the key the manual says to press to enter) right after i hit the power button but it seems to go straight into windows. Any idea what i could do?

Im upgrading from a 3850 to either a X2 card or the 5850. I just need to see how the X2 cards compare to the single cards and then I will get something. Hopefully its not that far away since I been waiting for a really good video card upgrade since 07 and the 5000 series is looking pretty dang good.

I'm pretty sure you just need to hit the delete key. Just keep pressing it once a second as soon as you power your computer on.
