I'm currently running 2 HD7850's (2GB cards) in crossfire and would rather go back to one single. Looking for a beneficial upgrade under $400. R9 290, GTX 970??? What are your guys' thoughts?

GTX 970 or R9 290X are your choices.. gtx 970 are arround 340-360$.. you can find 290X arround 350$ too.. amazon have This asus 290X at 310$ AR

At what resolution? At 1440p+ the R9 290X is the better choice. The 970 starts to struggle a bit at higher resolution due to the narrower bus.

1080p...just want to make sure it will be a worthy enough upgrade over the 2 HD 7850's
