40 inch Sony for PS4 usage

I was always impressed by Sony TV's but never owned one myself because they were almost always twice as expensive as a comparable no name or a Vizio or something. I always thought they were amazing but could never justify the price.
Now I have an opportunity to get a 40 inch Sony 108p Tv for a fair price I am thinking about doing it.
I am currently using my PS4 with a 65inch Vizio but I do sit pretty far from it and it gets tricky to spot people in PvP etc.
The model number is
KDL-40W590B

if I get it I will set it on a desk and not sit too far from it, just enough so I don't have to move my head to look around. It has that sony clear motion type technology which makes fast paced Playstation games appear almost like 120hz.
This is a pure impulse buy, something I don't need, already have a massive TV.
Any thoughts?
 
Sony tends to do well in terms of input lag and image quality. It'd be a solid choice.
 
You have to know that it's not all Sony TVs that are great gaming sets with low lag.
It starts with series W7 (KDL-42W700B / KDL-42W705B) and then on with W8, W9 series etc.

Anything below (W5, W6) features an inferior scaling/processing engine with inferior picture quality and much more lag.

PS: the only blur reducing feature you'll find on this model is a 60Hz strobing backlight, which dims the picture a lot and the flickering is very hard on the eyes.
If you want the efficient real blur reducing features from Sony called 'MotionFlow XR400 or XR600 or XR800' , the only models really featuring the right options start from KDL-50W700B / KDL-50W705B for the W7 series, and KDL-50W800B / KDL-50W805B for the W8 series ( then bigger sizes etc).
I don't think Sony still manufacture 40" nor 42" sets with full MotionFlow support, they had at least one or two in 2013, but now it's only on bigger sets.

In short:
1. MotionFlow XR200 or XR300 = bullshit, you need at least XR400, and XR600 or XR800 are recommended.
2. Any series below W7 = pretty average sets with nothing better than similar ones from other brands.

NB: MotionFlow options when activated reduce blur, but increase lag a lot.

I have the Sony KDL50W800B and it's fantastic as an extended display for my PC. Low input lag gives me responsive and smooth mouse movement. Picture quality for Blu Rays and Netflix/Prime/Hulu is very good. It was pricey for a 50 inch TV but I feel it was worth the investment as it has essentially turned my pure gaming rig into a more versatile and entertaining HTPC.
