Haven't done any research on this, but are there any SFF cases that will hold 4 HDDs if you use a USB optical drive? And provide enough power and etc?

SFF file server + laptop for dorm room fun...just thinking about it anyway.

(I have a 2 drive R0 which if SFF would work will be bumped to a 3 drive R5 array with a possibility of moving to a 4 drive in the future. So 3 drive case *might* work...)
 
The Shuttle P-chassis holds 3x3.5" and 1x5.25" so that would work if you leave out the optical drive.

I have three drives at the moment, one in an external USB2.0 enclosure. Only get about 30MB/s out of it but it doesn't matter because I only use it for storage. You could stack several of those on top of each other I suppose. Was only about $30. Thinking about replacing all those semi-large drives with one big 300+GB drive though - less noise and heat.
 
The Shuttle SN25P would qualify perfectly for this. 350W PSU helps. I'm running 3 hdd's and an optical in mine with no problems. I'm quite sure you could add a 4th drive in the 5.25" bay if using a USB optical drive and still not tax the PSU.
