3dmarks03 and reformatting?

Well,

I reformatted last night and the first thing I di was I installed and ran 3dmark03. I wasn't expecting much since my video card/cpu were all at stock settings (my barton is usually at 2.5mhz not 1.84) and I was suprised when I got 5023 as my score seeing as with my barton overclocked to 2.5 I usually got about 51xx something or around that. Why is that? does reformatting really help performance that much?
 
Yep, because all the dumb little programs you've installed and Windows itself over time eats up more resources... and that's one of the reasons why I reformat somewhat often, even without problems.
