3dmark05 cpu test

How could a Cpu score drop on 3dmark05. i was at 4900 now im getting 4693 for some reason. i got 4900 with the 4.11 beta drivers, now 4693 with the 4.10's. but how does the video drivers have anything to do with the cpu score? just curious

sounds like their programming is off! either that or (im just guessing here) the new drivers set different levels of detail to draw, even though the cpu does the work it is given more/less to do. i.e. maybe the new drivers have something switched on by default that was switched off before.

just theorising until someone with a real answer gets here

ehehheheheh this program is weird, i just ran it again, and i got 4819. but this was on a cold start. so the processor must of got an extra 200 points amlost becuase it was cooler. thats the only thing i can think of

Don't run CPU tests for 3DMarks. Use SuperPi, botmatches at low resolutions, things like that.

yah i usually dont use 3dmark as a CPU benchmarker. but on 3dmark05 i dont have the registered copy so it has to run the cpu test, so im forced to look at the score
