Alright so I've read some of the review of the 3870, but I have a few questions. Mainly, what settings/FPS are you running in Source games(HL2/TF2), and ET:QW. I mostly play TF2 but plan on picking up QW in the near future. Right now I'm running an 8600GT. In Source I play 1600x1200, med/high settings 2xAA, but have regular dips into the low 20's, which I dont like, and in the QW demo I play 1280x1024 all high settings with about the same FPS.

Would you also mind posting 3dmark06 scores as well? I got a piddly 3860.
So basically, how much of an improvement will I see? Thanks!
 
I have a 3870 and I play source all maxed out at 1680x1050. except i play with aa at x2 and i get constant 40-50 fps. and in 3dmark06 at 1280x1024 I get a 10619
 
Thanks, looks like I'll be going for the 3870 unless I can find a cheap 8800GT.
