I'm putting together a new build for my 3ds max work, will be rendering sometimes with vray, but mostly to a render farm in house. I'm currently bound to windows xp 32 bit because of my other software costs a lot to upgrade.

Can someone suggests a good cooler (heatsink/fan, or ?) for this CPU? I prolly won't oc, and it will sit on a p8z77-v lk board. I'll be using artic silver paste. Thanks.

A 120mm AIO cooler would probably be the most simple for the cost. If you don't want to deal with closed loop water coolers, I'd say the best bang for the buck is the CM Hyper 212 Evo.

second to say Cooler master hyper 212 Evo... best noise/performance/dollar ratio in the market.. you will not find huge cooling performance boost over this cooler until you delid that 3770K.. AiO like the H60 or H55 are good for the flexibility of being used in small cases, thing that can't be done with the hyper 212 because its a tall cooler.. and will have problems even with a big amount of mid tower cases..

Thank you..is that thing all I need or is there something else I need to buy? Like an adapter or something...I'm new to the 3770 k.

So the 212 needs a larger case?

just be sure that the case you have can fit >160mm fan coolers... nope, don't need anything else.. just plug and play..
