3.73EE Vs 660

This is my pure speculation...


Maybe the EE has better cache that is alot lower in latency, such as what is featured on the Pentium M. This could be a difference that would seperate it from the general 600 series
 
but then the cache would be holding back the clock speeds of the chip severely. think of it like regular memory. tigher the timings, the less likely you're gonna hit high speeds.
unless you have bh-5/utt, but that's a different story ;)
 
I just come at it from a different angle I think of thinking about it. I always want the lowest latency, even in sacrifice of some speed.

I am that way with my ram too. I will set my ram at 2-2-2 and whever speed in MHz i get, i Get.. and thats where it stays. I seem to feel that over my time in computer history, lower timings and stuff came out to a smoother expirance...

To me I will notice extremly tight timings in "smoothness" over loose timings and a few more MHz

But i may just be full of shit :) we all do it a different way

Post # 94 in the thread you started where you asking where to buy one: at the time I posted the link... it was only at $610!! It ended up selling for $1006.

P.S. The P4 3.73EE does not have a different cache. (nothing like the Pentium M) If anything it might have some little PAT mode enabled on it. (probably in the chipset, not the the chip even)
But it hasn't even been conclusively tested (proved). B/c Intel mentions nothing about lower latencies for the EE in any of the specs, literature, etc..

which is odd. you'd think that if there was a good reason for us enthusiasts to buy intel's most expensive chip, they'd want to tell us. for an educated enthusiast the EE doesn't look so good because the only "benefit" over the standard p4 is the 1066mhz bus, which has proven to be basically worthless.
