Hey guys,

Basically my question is this:

My broadband is 4 mbps. My router is an 802.11g - 54 mbps and wired its 100mbps.

As long as I my signal/hard wire is giving me atleats 4mbps (36 wireless usually, 100 wired obviously) I have my broadband at full speed correct?

I'm aware that as far as networking (transfering files to/from pcs) that hard wiring will be faster than using the wireless, but am I right in saying that's not the case for my internet, since it's not a 54mbps/100mbps connection?

4 megabit/second is around 500 kilobyte/second. You can almost get that speed with 802.11b. So yes, 802.11g will be just fine, but your latency might be a little higher.

eh he beat me! your latency might be a little higher but you won't notice really
