3.0C steppings?

Just curious what steppings there are for 3.0C's and what differences there are between them.

According to CPU-Z mine is a D1 revision. I'd have to take it out and look at the actual stepping. Just curious as to what steppings get what results while overclocking.

I looked at the intel site and it says that there were 3 productions of the 3.0C, but all three have D1 steppings. My model is the SL6WU and is also D1. However, if I remember correctly someone was posted a thread where some site was selling unlocked 3.0Cs that were doing 3.9 on air!!! Well the info I gave was kinda vague, but if anyone could add to this it would be much appreciated.

I know engineering samples are unlocked. I know a guy with some unlocked preproduction Xeon 3.2's.

Occasionally I see those chips around in the used market but not too often.

check out my sig its a sl6wk d1 stepping packed 3/8/04
heat is my only enemy now I can go up to 4.1 if I had better cooling
trying a cpu duct later today just need to cut the hole

Mines an SL6WK d1 stepping but it was packed in 2/19/04. i havn't had a chance to OC it yet because of lacking the proper cooling but i hope i get close to as good of OC as you did out of yours. I'm not planning on going over 3.7Ghz though if i can get it that high. I dont want to run with more then 1.7v at the very most. I'll probably stick to 1.6v and see how high i can get it stable with that.

Same here I hope to not have to raise the voltage too high. I'm probably going to go with the Zalman cooler as it has a good price/performance ratio. I like the SP94 but I don't really like the idea of shelling out $50 bux for a fanless heatsink.

Looks/Performance is whats most important to me. Price is good too but not what i'm going to base my buying descision on. I been looking around trying to pick out something that would look cool on my Gigabyte 8KNXP. My case is lit up bright blue so i gotta find something to go along with that and still performs good.

hey sir my mazda 626 has beatin mustangs and camaros (older ones) n20 is a mothafckr on a 4 banger I even OC my 4door:D

anyway my case isn't pretty at all it goes underneath my desk and it has a door I keep the door open when I play games but I have hacked the crap out of my case it doesnt look that bad but you can tell I didnt buy it like that

I think if I get one of these new video cards coming out I should be straight for at least a couple years until they straighten out the mb's like they always do

hey kenny what are the settings for your oc. I took it up to 1.6v manually and it begins to boot into windows and then bluescreens saying that it is restarting the system to prevent damage to the hardware. I'm using 5:4 spread. 2.75v on the ram and 1.5 on the AGP/PCI (320mhz for RAM, 60/33 for AGP). Would going auto on the voltage be preferable cause it doesn't seem like mines gonna break 240FSB without going past 1.6v. If I run 230FSB it stays nice at 1.5v and 30-45 temps.

Just wondering if u got any advice as our rigs are somewhat similar.

Oh btw my cpu is a sl6wu which is the one after the k and it was packaged a day after yours lol.
