2x3870x2 crossfire-x problem

Hi. Got a major problem. i have 2x3870x2`s both identical powercolor gddr4 versions.
1 card is always disabled in the ati control panel.
Below is what it says in ccc.

As you can see it is disabled. Why is this.

PC specs.
asus p5e motherboard
quad core q6600 -stock speed (watercooled)
4gb ddr2 800
raid 0 2x500gb disks + 1 backup drive.
2x 3870x2
1000w coolermaster psu

Vista x64 home premium with sp1
cataltst 8.10 official drivers.

All i want to do is run this crossfire at least 1 time . Please share your wisdom.
 
Do you also have the option for CrossfireX in the control panel, and if so, is it enabled?

I believe that particular page will show the 2nd adapter as disabled unless you have more than one monitor attached. I don't think it actually has anything to do with crossfire being enabled or not.

Assuming that you do have a separate option for Crossfire, it should be pretty easy to test using a program like 3dmark to see if Crossfire is actually working or not.
 
I actually solved the problem, ccc now lists 4gpu`s 2 6 4 0
It was powercolor who placed a yellow sticker just over the back edge of where you plug in the crossfire link, once removed it worked...
However i have a new problem , upon cold booting the comp i get a no ati device installed.
Leave it running for a min and reboot, all is fine again.
Any ideas why cold booting is causing that issue. Seems like 1 card is not detected so causes that error.. any fix?.

as you can see when hot all is detected as linked
 
Seems i was wrong......

When starting from cold i get a no ati device installed or wrong driver error from ati software. In device manager 4 cards are shown, all with a yellow symbol on them. Looking at properties shows a code 43 error for all of them.
after many reboots which seems like pot luck it will load the driver and be fine whilst warmed up.

I have read all over the forums and there seems to be no answer.

Please can someone help me fix this
