So i'm in the design stages of my ZFS system. I've got a 10GBE iSCSI for my main connection to my ZFS & my Virtual Server. I'm looking at connections to my clone station & workstation. I'd like to go with a minimum of 2GFC so i can clone disks (SATA 2) at near native speeds directly to my ZFS storage server.

I've found 2GFC cards on ebay for $50x 10. But i cant find any drivers outside of windows. HP FCA2404 is the card i've been looking at. I did a search for each OS that ZFS supports + 2gfc but didn't get any results.

I feel like i'm looking for either the wrong hardware or the wrong keywords. Any guidance would be great.

That is cause your searching on the HP model number. Once you figure out what it's a rebrand of, likely in that case qlogic, you will get results.

if you have a PCI-X system

Solaris
Emulex LPE 9002 9008 10000 work
Qlogic QLE2340 work as initiators... not targets

Should be had on ebay for about $9each

Else you step up to 4Gb PCI-E cards
Emulex LPE100000
Qlogic QLE2460
Ebay from $150 > $250

Word of warning
Keep away from Qlogic QLE200 or Emulex LPE1150 cards as they are not "Enterprise" cards and don't work so good in Solaris if at all

If you are after cards for windows or other OS's
grab the Solaris supported ones...
